Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies- Race 4

Sweet ReasonThe 2013 Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies will be Race 4 on the card at Santa Anita on Saturday and is for 2 year old fillies looking to travel 1 1/16 mile. The juvenile events are always tough to handicap because 2 year olds can be unpredictable and don’t have a lot of experience to look at. With that being said, favorites have been in the money 24 out of 29 times. West Coast based fillies generally have the advantage at Santa Anita in this race winning 5 out of 6 editions of this race. Last year’s winner was Beholder who out ran favorite Executiveprivilege by 1 length and paid $9.80 for the win. Sweet Reason is the 5/2 morning line favorite in this one, but is coming out of a second place finish in the Grade 1 Frizette losing by 1 ¼ length to another entry here, Artemis Agrotera. Many are looking at the home field advantage to go to She’s a Tiger or Secret Compass. Both fillies ran in the Grade 1 Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita September 28th and Secret Compass won by a head over She’s a Tiger at a 1 1/16 mile. This one should shape up to be an interesting race! The average winning pay-out in the history of this event is $15.89 for the win based on a $2 wager. Listed below are our picks (listed in predicted order of finish) for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. Good luck!
