Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf- Race 7

Bobby's KittenThe 2013 Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf will be Race 7 on the card at Santa Anita on Friday and is for 2 year olds looking to travel 1 mile. In the past, outside post positions have done well in this event from about post position 8 and out. The favorite here should be a short-priced Bobby’s Kitten. Bobby’s Kitten won the Grade 3 Pilgrim Stakes in his most recent start by over 6 lengths and is being hailed as America’s top juvenile turf horse. Although he has drawn post position 5 here, he is in an ideal spot for his connections. It’s important to note though, that European shippers have won all 3 Juvenile Turf editions at Santa Anita in the past. Although Kentucky bred, last year’s winner was George Vancouver (trained by Aidan O’Brien) who’s only race in the states was the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. He paid $20.60 for the win. It would be wise to keep an eye on the Aidan O’ Brien trained horses, Giovanni Boldini and Wilshire Boulevard, since he has won the last 2 editions of this race with the previously mentioned George Vancouver and 2011 winner, Wrote. Outstrip, Shamson and Home School are the other 3 imports here. The average winning pay-out in the history of this event is $18.03 based on a $2 wager. Listed below are our picks (listed in predicted order of finish) for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. Good luck!
