2013 Breeders’ Cup Mile

Breeders’ Cup Mile – Race 11

Wise DanThe 2013 Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint will be Race 11 on the card at Santa Anita on Saturday and is for 3 year olds and up looking to travel 1 mile on the turf. The Woodbine Mile has produced the last 2 winners for this event with Court Vision in 2011 and Wise Dan in 2012. Wise Dan is back to defend his title, but there seems to be mixed opinions on whether he can pull it off. This is due to Silver Max upsetting his 9 race win streak in Keeneland’s Shadwell Turf Mile. The thing you have to remember is that due to the rain that race was moved off of the turf. If Wise Dan is anything, he is a turf horse and should be dominate in this field. Hopefully this will bring him better paying odds, since many will side with Silver Max in this event. Silver Max is a very talented horse, so anything is possible. He has dominated his fair share of turf races, too, so this race will be quite the match-up. There is a ton of other great talent in this race to consider, as well, including Obviously, Za Approval and Olympic Glory. The average winning pay-out in the history of this event is $22.18 for the win based on a $2 wager. Listed below are our picks (listed in predicted order of finish) for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Mile.  Good luck!
