Breeders’ Cup Sprint – Race 10

Private ZoneThe 2013 Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint will be Race 10 on the card at Santa Anita on Saturday and is for 3 year olds and up looking to travel 6 furlongs. In the past California based horses have done well here winning 5 of the last 7 sprints. Last year’s winner was Trinniberg who won by ¾ of a length over The Lumber Guy and paid $29.40. The second largest superfecta in this event’s history was paid out in last year’s edition snagging a huge $54,432.90 for the $1.00 wager! Both Trinniberg and The Lumber Guy are back for this year’s race, but both horses have had a rough year. Many were looking forward to Points Offthebench in this one, but sadly he sustained a fatal injury in a recent workout and was euthanized. The 3 to 1 morning line favorite is Private Zone, but he’s in with a lot of front runners here which could be a serious issue and should set-up for a stalker or even deep closer to win this one. The average winning pay-out in the history of this event is $21.84 for the win based on a $2 wager. Listed below are our picks (listed in predicted order of finish) for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Sprint.  Good luck!
