Trainer Watch, Fair Hill Qualifiers & the Name Game

Updated Names For The Trainer Watch

Good news for horse racing, almost $20m. was wagered on June 22nd at Hollywood and Belmont combined. This only makes me want to study more.

Gennadi DorochenkoHere’s an update to my trainer article before we touch on other subjects. A trainer we should all know about and factor in is Tim Kreiser at Penn National. He has a barn full of winners and he ships them to other locales. G. Dorochenko seems to have moved his operations to Delaware from Arlington and he should be getting used to the new surroundings soon. His horses have names that give race callers nightmares; how about Vperyod Seryoga? Since 2011, he has had about a 10% win in 1010 attempts. Philip AristoneAdd in 88 – 2nd’s and 125 to show. Victor Garcia in California is recovering from having most of his barn claimed. Rebuilding, he will be a factor soon. P. Aristone has been added to my trainer’s list because he took a horse from Golden Gate to Penn and won! Also his Zombyslayermr.darcy won last weekend – great name. Mr. Aristone is helping my ROI greatly. Finally, here’s a quick tribute to Mel Stute. I’m missing him because he was like the bank to me, if I needed money, there was Mel at 18/1. I hope Gary Stute becomes as “sly” as Mel was.

Additional Handicapping Angles For This Week

Gary BoulangerAnother jockey making his “comeback” is Gary Boulanger. Welcome back! He is riding mostly for M. Casse at Woodbine and racked up 5 wins from 17 mounts last week.

Four more points as NTRA members prepare for another big chance to go to Vegas on June 29th. Last week the ancient quinella paid more than the exacta in two races at Hollywood, keep watching those monitors closely.

If you handicap by sire, here are three that have caught my eye in June. Niigon, Pure Prize & Street Smart; the first 2 had back-to-back winners.

Fair Hill Training Center Hot Prospects

Located in Maryland, the Fair Hill Training Center is used by many owners & trainers (R. Mettee & G. Motion to name two) as an alternative to being at a single track. Here is a list of my 21 qualifiers from Fair Hill that could show up at any of a half a dozen tracks:

Keeping Up With the “Name Game”

Finally let’s look at the “confusion” factor regarding names. Without a computer and Equibase.com, today’s names will baffle any one. There’s a Maserati and a Red one, a Squeal & a Miss Squeal. There are Wildcats, Unusuals, Warren’s, & Unbridled’s, a Ready for Therapy and a plain Therapy, 10 Starship horses and a baker’s dozen Tiz’s. Not to mention an Assure and an Assured! Please get information assistance from Mike Lane here at HandicapHorseRacing.com [or me, Steven Mulhall at ExactaExpress.net] if you can’t devote your existence to this endeavor as we do. To “win” you must spread your wagers across the eight top tracks; spot playing, selecting only qualified proven-ready runners. One track, and win wagering will probably result in a small or negative return. Exactas & Daily Doubles are a good path for exaggerated instant profits.
